Overseas Pakistanis traveling through Bacha Khan International Airport can now enjoy faster and more reliable CNIC and NICOP services thanks to a major upgrade introduced by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
The newly upgraded one-window facilitation desk, now located inside the briefing area of the international terminal, has been modernized to make identity-related services more accessible for expatriates and international travelers.
Passengers can now conveniently apply for and renew:
- National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP)
- Family Registration Certificate (FRC)
- Pakistan Origin Card (POC)
These services are now on par with NADRA’s main branch offices, reducing the hassle of visiting city centers for documentation.
The upgraded facility is fully integrated with NADRA’s Pak-ID mobile application, allowing travelers to access a wide range of digital services on the spot. This includes quick processing of documents and online verification, supporting the government’s ongoing Digital Pakistan initiative.
According to NADRA’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Regional Director General, the new desk has been designed to cut down waiting times and prioritize:
- Senior citizens
- People with disabilities
- Travelers requiring urgent documentation services
This customer-focused approach ensures smoother and faster service delivery, especially for those who need it most.
The upgrade is part of a broader initiative by the federal government to make travel and documentation easier for overseas Pakistanis. Representatives from 13 different departments have been deployed at airport facilitation desks nationwide, creating a one-stop solution for Pakistani citizens traveling abroad.
Earlier this year, NADRA also introduced an online registration system for birth and death certificates via the Pak-ID app, enabling citizens to directly submit data to relevant union councils without visiting local offices.
With this upgrade, overseas Pakistanis and frequent travelers can now complete essential identity services directly at the airport saving time, avoiding long queues, and ensuring a more reliable documentation process.
This step reflects NADRA’s commitment to providing modern, digital-first solutions for expatriates while advancing the government’s mission of a smarter, digitally connected Pakistan.
