The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a more convenient way to modify your Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC). With the upgraded Pak-ID mobile application (v4.4.3), citizens can now update their CNIC details online — without the hassle of visiting NADRA offices or waiting in long queues.
This initiative is part of Pakistan’s digital transformation strategy, aimed at making public services more accessible and reducing administrative hurdles.
The latest version of the Pak-ID app allows users to complete the CNIC modification process from start to finish through their smartphones. The key features include:
- Biometric Verification: Verify identity using fingerprint or facial recognition.
- Document Upload: Capture or scan required documents and upload directly in the app.
- Secure Payments: Pay fees easily through Easypaisa, JazzCash, debit/credit card, or e-Sahulat.
- Home Delivery: Once approved, the updated CNIC is delivered directly to your provided address.
Here’s how you can modify your CNIC with the Pak-ID mobile app:
- Download the Pak-ID App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Register & Log In using your mobile number and complete biometric verification (fingerprint or facial recognition).
- Select the Service – choose whether you need CNIC modification, renewal, or reprint.
- Upload Documents – scan or capture the required documents directly through the app.
- Pay the Fee using Easypaisa, JazzCash, debit/credit card, or e-Sahulat.
- Wait for Approval – once processed, NADRA dispatches the updated CNIC to your address.
For extra guidance, NADRA has also included an official tutorial video within the app.
Along with CNIC modification, NADRA has extended digital identity services to more than 1,200 union councils across Pakistan, ensuring broader access for citizens in both urban and rural areas.
This move comes after NADRA previously introduced CNIC renewal and NICOP (for overseas Pakistanis) services through the Pak-ID app. Now, with modification included, citizens can update their CNIC from the comfort of home — saving both time and effort.
This upgraded CNIC modification service reflects Pakistan’s shift towards digital governance. By bringing essential identity services online, NADRA is making the system:
- Faster – no more long queues at NADRA offices.
- Secure – biometric verification ensures safe processing.
- Accessible – available nationwide with doorstep delivery.
The Pak-ID mobile app is now the easiest way for Pakistanis to modify, renew, or reprint CNICs. It’s a secure, user-friendly, and time-saving solution that represents the country’s growing digital infrastructure.
