Islamabad Public Holiday Notification – Two Consecutive Off Days Announced

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has officially announced Wednesday, August 13, 2025, as Islamabad public holiday within the federal capital’s revenue limits.

According to the notification issued by the Office of the District Magistrate, the holiday will be observed by all offices except those providing essential services. Departments and organizations that will remain operational include:

  • Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI)
  • Capital Development Authority (CDA)
  • ICT Administration & Police
  • Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO)
  • Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL)
  • Hospitals & Emergency Medical Services

The District Magistrate has instructed that the notice be shared with all relevant ministries, departments, and media outlets to ensure residents are fully informed.

This announcement comes just a day before Pakistan’s Independence Day on Thursday, August 14, 2025, which is also a national public holiday. This means Islamabad residents will enjoy two consecutive days off – August 13 and 14.

📢 The local government has urged citizens to plan their travel and official tasks accordingly, especially as public offices and many private institutions will remain closed during this period.
