The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a new digital facility that allows citizens to check the status of their applications online through its upgraded Pak-ID mobile app.
This initiative aims to reduce unnecessary visits to NADRA offices, making the process more convenient for both local citizens and overseas Pakistanis.
According to a NADRA spokesperson, the Pak-ID mobile app now offers almost all major services, including:
- Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs)
- Child Registration Certificates (B-Forms)
- Family Registration Certificates (FRCs)
- CNIC modification and renewal
- Biometric verification and secure fee payments
Citizens are now only required to visit a NADRA office once in their lifetime — for their very first CNIC. After that, all renewals, updates, and certificates can be handled through the app.
The spokesperson highlighted that the new system is especially beneficial for overseas Pakistanis, who previously had to travel or depend on relatives for essential documentation. With the updated Pak-ID v4.4.3 app, they can now:
- Apply for or renew CNICs remotely
- Upload documents securely
- Complete biometric verification online
- Receive CNICs and other documents directly at their provided address
In addition to CNIC services, NADRA has simplified the Succession Certificate process. Citizens can now apply at any of the 186 Succession Facilitation Units (SFUs) across Pakistan — regardless of the location of the inherited property.
The biometric process has also been upgraded, allowing legal heirs to verify their identity either at the nearest NADRA centre or via the mobile app.
By digitizing identity and verification services, NADRA continues to push Pakistan towards e-governance and digital transformation. The convenience of completing identity-related tasks from home or abroad marks a significant step forward in reducing bureaucratic hurdles.
With this initiative, citizens can now save time, avoid long queues, and access fast, reliable, and secure services at their fingertips.
